Laura Alexander

After graduating with first class honours in physiotherapy, Laura went on to spend time building experience in a range of disciplines within the NHS including neuro, respiratory, acute medicine, orthopaedics and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, both in an inpatient and an outpatient setting.

In 2015 Laura became a Specialist MSK and Orthopaedic Physiotherapist within a major trauma hospital, where she has worked providing expert care to patients with complex conditions in the following settings:

  • A&E
  • Trauma and Elective Orthopaedic wards, including the Major Trauma Unit
  • MSK outpatients
  • Hand therapy
  • Occupational Health and work place assessments

Laura enjoys working with patients who present with all kinds of MSK and orthopaedic conditions – from joint replacements, to fractures, all manner of soft tissue injuries, and even polytraumas. She values the importance of pre-habilitation just as much as post-operative rehabilitation and has extensive experience in preparing patients to be in the best possible condition going into surgery.

Laura believes in taking a holistic and completely patient-centred approach to her therapy, with tailored exercise therapy being at the forefront of her care. She strives to empower her clients to take ownership of their conditions by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to continue their rehabilitation independently between sessions, as well as setting them up for ongoing success and the reduction of re-injury in the future.
